Operation Rock the CradleAlex Guimonde |
||
Operation Rock the Cradle is the second of the many missions Petty Officer Blake Walker participated in as a sniper for an elite team comprised from three branches of the United States military. The book starts off describing how his exceptional skills at survival, tracking, and shooting were developed from a very young age, with his great grandfather, to the time he entered into the Navy. This operation takes place in Beirut, Lebanon, in 1983, when the political unrest was at its peak. To counteract the inroads the PLO was making, the U.S. president sent two teams into Beirut to remove the leaders of the PLO so Israel could stabilize the region. It also focuses on the turmoil in the Walker brothers’ lives with the murder of their mother, at the hands of their father, and how they avenged her death. |
